Thats exactly what we need to figure out... I am working on it.
We have no idea how many are legally porting from EB3 to EB2. I am sure many are trying but the data is not available. I dont know how you will move forward without such information.
(Disclaimer: i am EB3 with US masters and no desire of porting to EB2)

if she applied for H1B the first package the lawyer sumitted should have copies of her I-20 and EAD. Look through the package you may find a copy in it.
she didn't apply for an H1B unfortunately
went from OPT to J-2- which was stamped in Delhi
and then to H4 briefly (attorney was involved- wonder if we made a copy- good point)
and then back to F-1 which is the current status.....

Can you please tell me in what form you get your advance parole (AP)? Is it like a Visa stamp on your passport or is it a temperory card like the EAD?

I have seen some of your posts and looks like your the oldest waiting since the dates have been current. Are you considering filing WOM since you will be current for 4 months by Oct. What is lawyer saying? Although I have been just current for 12 days the wait seems forever so I understand how you must be feeling.
What did your senator/congressman say?
Where is your application TSC or NSC? If it is TSC, did you try to send email to streamline email address? I know you must have done everything. Also you can try to goto the local office and have them issue you a FP notice if they have expired. Maybe that will set things in motion since I know some IOs just want to issue another FP and not refresh the old one in their systems.

Except for waiting for a visa number to be available all other delays are due to the time that it takes to process a case (and also due to the country quota). In labor stage, DOL determines if there is any citizen who fit in the labor description and who is looking for a job. In 140 stage, USCIS determines if the company is in good standing and has the ability to pay. In final stage, the candidate�s biometrics is taken and his background checked. All these are essential process in adjudicating a GC case in the employment category. I just do not how all these can be surpassed and candidates handed over a GC, let alone citizenship.

EB3 Porting could use up to 8K though, and new filing could be 2K
and EB2 I/C pre-07/2007 still have about 34K at the beginning of oct/2010
So it is even at most...

Let it be 5000 min/pm. Still, 5000 min/month give about 2.7 hours per day. Talking 2.7 hours to India per 24 hours is unusual for many. I don't even get 30 minutes to talk. Even if we want to talk 2.7 hours you will be distrbing people in India, as they may be watching cricket or Tv serials.:)
Any way, this pan is simply superb compare to the situation before 10 years. Compare to many phone providers/cable compaines, vonage customer service is simply great, at least in my experience.
only down side of free 2.7 hrs/day is that the in-laws would now expect more calls from their US son in laws:) IV could you please hide this discussion from the inlaws in india?

You could be stuck because of background/name check. Check my previous postings where I sent a link to one of the documents someone posted when they got is using FOIA. At the time of final approval also some checks are initiated and that could cause delays also.
I got the SLUD on 9/3, 9/4, 9/7 2010. Showing the same message under review.waited all these days hoping for good news.No good news.called c/s(customer service),got response that they only "touched your file on 9/3,but don't have idea what IO did."
Came to US more than 10 Yrs before.still waiting.

I am all for it, and would support it in whatever way possible. Although not sure how it would work. It would require a gigantic change in the US laws.
I am here for past 11 years paying all possible taxes. Fortunately i was able to file 485 in 07, thru my second gc filing. Bought a house in '06 in a bold move, with the hope that gc would come thru sooner or later. Overall happy with the move to my own house (though the house value has dropped considerably since). Waiting is really painful, but I'll continue to maintain a positive outlook till then.

I am in for this.
If some one has entered US legally and filed for GC, it means (most of the cases) they will wish to naturalize at some point..Technically once GC is approved path to citizenship steps up.
I like this idea of pushing for citizenship..but I would like to remove the clauses of measuring length of stay from 140-approved or 485-applied etc.
Why shouldnt we say, anyone who worked in US for 5 years (which means paying taxes etc)
should be naturalized directly ...When they can make illegals legals why not us?
Do we have a group in Linkedin? If not, I can take up the responsibility of spreading through Linkeid groups for support (I dont like facebook so I am not on it and Linkedid is supposedly a professional network)
