Hey BP, taking your numbers and assuming horizontal spill over instead of vertical would make eb2 all over current. total spill over from eb1 = 53807, total eb2 quota = 40040, pending eb2 = 74932
assume eb1 demand = 5000, eb2 demand = 20000
we can easily see eb2 getting completely approved.
I concluded the same ( Though never posted that analysis :)) But It looks like we are missing a very critical point - we are assuming that " these pending numbers are the total 485 workload USCIS has" but I referred a different chart on USCIS board and it looks like there is a separte hoard of "preadjudicated" applications already sitting in a queue apart from these numbers. So, even if USCIS now decides to stop processing/approving AOS based on the limited number of available visa - my understaning is that "we" are at least on top of the list and once visa become available again, the AOS will be approved - so, in worst case another three to four months wait? After five years of processing time(s) I can live with that...
Another question that came up was once the AOS was not approved, do you have to file again or does the current dis-approval have any negative effect on the process (except for of course the wait time)?

I got the SLUD on 9/3, 9/4, 9/7 2010. Showing the same message under review.waited all these days hoping for good news.No good news.called c/s(customer service),got response that they only "touched your file on 9/3,but don't have idea what IO did."

Guys do not feed the freeloaders by telling anything you are reading in the donor forum. Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. They are taking time off and spending own money for you and me. Nothing is free in this world. IV is also doing this for you and me and we are taking it for granted. Hi, Virginia_desi, perhaps my observation and moral was a bit pre-fetched. But based on two big forums (IV, Murthy), Indian consulates are the only ones that reportedly delay passport deliveries by more than 10 days for some cases. I have not read a single first hand experience (not friend tales) talking about 30 days delays at any other posts. I did read about a 7 days delay at London, but that was it.
Hopefully the PIMS system will stabilize soon. My one complain is that enough forewarning should be given to the people in advance when making such big changes in visa process. There was some information from DOS on 7th and 28th Dec on Murthy.com about PIMS, but that mentioned a maximum delay of 48 hours. I dont think 48 hours can be rounded to a month in any mathematical syntax. Furthermore, people were making appointments 2-3 months in advance. They cannot change their plans on a 2 weeks notice, and even that notice did not carry credible information about delays to anticipate.
Anyways, the moral should be "stay well informed before making any immigration steps". God bless all.

It really is amazing how much hot air has been generated on this thread over a well established transit visa requirement.
The list of nationals that are required to have a visa to transit the UK represents a list of countries where there has been a particular problem with over stayers. It is not race based, but merely an effort to target the problem.
Do you seriously think the people from all the countries listed overstayed ?
It really does not matter what anyone thinks about the transit visa requirement because it is UK law. Everyone has a choice whether or not to transit the UK. Going back to the original post, to book a ticket without researching visa requirements and then trying to deflect personal responsibility by blaming the visa requirement is ridiculous.
The whole point of the thread is to discuss how people are treated there and merits or otherwise in choosing this place as a transit point.
Do you see any one demanding or representing your queen to abolish this TV requirement ? If you had followed the thread most people are suggesting to avoid this place rather than to fight them. Don't you get that point ?
How is charging different amounts for the same kind of visa and refusing to correct the mistake OP's personal responsibility ?

A# is the alien number that is given to the applicant during the GC process. It is either given at 140 approval or at 485. If you have a A# in your 140 approval then you can use that # in all your 485 forms.
To answer pranju's question, yes its only for primary applicant. You can leave that field as blank for your spouse.

I was on F1 when the lawyer filed I485 for me along with my husband in 2004.
I know another couple who did the same.
F1 is a non immigrant visa and filing for I485 is not appropriate but at the same time it's not the primary applicant. So i don't know if it is going to be a problem or not ( my PD is not current).

Let us assume that EB2 is going to be current in a year or even sooner than that. Given that situation, and arguing that about 500 people jumped ahead into line over you in to EB2 from EB3, still I do not foresee that their GC's will be approved before the people who are already in line, because
1) as FIFO is not being followed by USCIS, probably they are processing cases based on RD,
2) PD porting is effectively done at the time the second I-140 IS APPROVED. At I-485 stage you can only hope to PD recapture and cross your fingers after sending a no fee letter. This will surely would need additional scrutiny, hence is not a so called 'Low hanging fruit'. Even if an EB3 person wants to start his process right now, it will not be probably before a year and half to two years before he/she is ready to port, and by that time you are past the gate or significantly nearer.
so my point of view is if you look at this thing negatively, you would have a Heartburn and related health issues, but if you are positive and an optimist you would deserve what you get.
stay healthy! that is more important than stressing yourself on issues which in the long term do not matter really. (You will get GC on or two rears later in the worst case scenario). cheer up folks:D:D:D

MY priority date is Feb 2005 (EB2 India) and Notice date is Sep, 04, 2007
The other day I took infopass but it was useless.. Any help in how to open an SR is highly appreciated guys

After hearing your case details on the automated system..you will have to Press 3 and then you can do it yourself. Explain to the customer service rep that your case is outside of normal processing times..etc. Keep us posted what happened.

One more thing to not miss it to request "dumping of the 50,000 diversity visas done by lottery". Why the hell should that many visas be thrown away like the way its done now. If looked thru the lens, this category makes no sense atall.

I didn't do anything (never opened SR or contacted Senator) but last week I did had an info pass appointment which was useless. MY PD was Feb 2005 EB2 INDIA (The fun part is My AP and EAD are still pending for over 4 months)

Any body know why there are 3341 cases in March 2005 in EB2 I category, is this about the time PERM came?With out quarterly spill over bulletin is going to get stuck in March 2005 till the end of the USCIS financial year.
