Do I have to fill it for my 2 kids ??
Thanks
Did not file this form since I prepared all the forms personally. I believe this is only needed if a lawyer files for you.

FYI, there will be a manager from TCS/WIPRO/IBM side to whom all these L1s will be reporting... They will "work" with client MGRs but report to employer MGR....

I knew friends in Kaiser who were hired on H1 and got GC through Kaiser..
How the hell can they justify filing new GCs, but not accepting EAD!?
Kaiser stopped hiring on H1 since 2003. They used to hire on EADs until last week.

Any one here unlucky as me unfortunately? Anyone have came across this situation? Your help will be greatly appericiated.
Thank you.

A# is the alien number that is given to the applicant during the GC process. It is either given at 140 approval or at 485. If you have a A# in your 140 approval then you can use that # in all your 485 forms.
To answer pranju's question, yes its only for primary applicant. You can leave that field as blank for your spouse.
Thank yoiu gcnirvana. Your post is very useful. I will use the A# that is on my I-140.
Here is what I just found:
- My EAD (from OPT) and H1B approval notice have the same A#
- My company's rep. did not put an A# in the I-140 app.
- My I-140 has a 9 digit A# which is different from the one that is on my H1 and EAD(OPT).
My question is:
If Spouse has EAD from OPT. Should s/he put that A# on their I-485?
Thanks,
Ams

 I have been advised by my lawyer to not apply for h1b extension anymore. I am now on my 8th year. I had my finger printing done December 2006. I also got my EAD valid for 1 year and also have my advanced parole just in case I will have a need to travel. What is your advice? My My 7th year H1B extension expires next month in March, 2007

Hello every one,
I am starting this thread for all of us not to just think about the GC process. If any one is residing here for 10 years without GC, think about making a law which can lead us to Citizenship. My thoughts on this:
Many of our colleagues who landed with us during the late 90s (1998, 1999) and early 2000, who got their GC without any issues are now Citizens or waiting to become Citizen soon.
What is our status?. Just think. Still we are strugling to get the GC. Even by law change, if we are getting the GC this year (by GOD's Grace), then we need to wait for another 5 years from now (approximately 2014). Many persons like me who have come to this Country in their later career will be very much affected due to this delay (we have lot of other issues like the dependents reaching the age of 21 etc., College, University fees etc.,).
Core team and every one, please consider this and try to lobby for getting the citizenship without further wait if the persons satisfy the folowing conditions:
1. If they are legally here for 10 years (With approved I-140 and waiting for Adjustment of Status without current date).
2. If they have earned full 40 points in Social Security
3. If they have paid the tax continuously for 10 years
4. If they own a house and paying Mortgage (adding weightage to the Economy boost)
and
5. If they do not have any criminal records in these 10 years.
Please again do not just concentrate on the GC issues. Consider this and if any one can come with a letter draft with legal openion, we can send it to all Congress members, State Governers etc.,
Hope the members and the Core team consider this issue. I have one more thread on this, which I started some months back but the response was not that good. If every one of us unite on this and raise this to the Congress, I think the new Government may consider as this is very genuine.
Agree with this approach. I'd rather ask big and settle for less than ask for less and settle for nothing! We really need to emphasize the point that we have been here for years legally paying taxes, other fees imposed on us NOT knowing the end state. Remember only the squeaky wheel gets the greese. More over there is never a good time, at least I have not seen one in the past 13 years, time always bring new challenges and issues but unless we speak up we dont make it to their priority list for consideration.

Name Check is usually sent a week after ones I-485 ND.
I have obeserved this for several cases including mine.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no relation between the time a Name Check is initiated and FP. They are independent.
How did you know the Name check status ? Did you call USCIS ?
It is interesting to know they start the name check before FP.

Will i face any problems in future when our pd becomes current.
Our lawyer says there should not be any problem but i don't know if he is correct.:(
It is not clear what you mean when you say that. How can you get EAD without filing for 485 [which you can file only when your PD is current].

My father tried to get a Non Availability certificate but they told since the birth is registered they can't issue one and that they also won't change the name... (after the incident where that MP tried to sneak people into Canada they are very strict it seems)
