I was talking to my COngressman's office. She says as per USCIS, they are trying to catch up with the huge backlog of 29th June to 7 Th August filers. They are hiring overtimers and Also using some volunteers from other USCIS dept to get rid of backlog. She said all the applications will be receipted in next 30-45 days for sure. She will again contact USCIS dept in 30 days to followup.

I just called USCIS using POJ method. Nice IO . She took time listening BUT same darn response.
I had opened a service request on 9/8 . I recieved a letter stating to wait for 6 months.
IO told me ,all the name check, FP are cleared. No RFE.
Since SR is open, wait for 6 months.

Folks,
My wife was stuck in namecheck during the H-4 stamping 3 years back. She gave full FP and got cleared in 6 weeks. Question i have is that i will be filing I-485 in July so is there a chance that she will be stuck in I-485 Name check as well? Anyone with experience? Also, if she get's stuck and I am cleared does the application get's stuck completely?
I was curious about the FBI name check and I read the FAQ on Name check on FBI website, what it says that once your name check is in progress for a particular agency as in our case USCIS, it will reject any duplicate name check for that person. Also it says something about a await period of 120 or 180 days when a second name check cane be done based on the first is cleared and the wait time has elapsed. Check the FBI site and read the FAQ on this.

If you are under H1b and she is applying for 485 together with you then answer is yes she can.

No because F1 is for non immigrant as F1 you show that you have no intention to move to US but once your file your I-485 you show an intention to move and stay in US therefore F1 is no longer valid.

U tell me how wise it is to give a loan to a person without a down payment..The reason i said that other people are stupid is because.. i took an ARM loan of 5 years,, where i knew that i am not going to live in the house for more than 3 years and will later sell it..and there are people who knew that they are going to stay in the same house for more than their ARM period.. but didnt realize that they wont be able to make payment once the rate is re-adjusted.. i am calling those people's decision as stupid..
about me making a bad decision about buying a house.. well not 2 years ago..
i can sell the house for a loss of may be 20,000.. but why should i pay that money from my pocket.. i can keep that in my savings account and use it in my bad time..

If you decide to apply multiple 485s with each other as dependents, then file just one first. Wait. Gets its A number and put that number in the other application. This way you will cover one pitfall of multiple filing. It will not cause confusion at USCIS end. Now This will not completely eliminate all risks in multiple filing. There have been cases in the past where when you inquire the status of one application, you will get the status of other. And if the PD of other is new, you can get stuck in a blackhole and will either have to wait for USCIS to sort it out or keep trying other ways to solve it. One of the reasons for delay (rightly put by Murthy) is -- when an application is adjudicated by a CIS officer, if the officer sees that there are other files open for the same individual, the officer will not adjudicate that application until that officer has all of the files in existence for that individual. This causes significant delays and confusion in adjudication.
Also do not apply EAD and AP on both. This is commonsense. But just mentioning it here in case..
I also researched the option of CP on one and regular 485 on other. While CP looks attractive, there are lot of risks. I have a big document on this. Overall I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to play safe.
Even multiple filing option should be pursued by critically evaluating your own situation. See how much you and your wife have secure jobs. How new are your PDS. What catagories do you belong to. Do not just apply because you have money to throw away. If throwing money gives you peace of mind, then by all means give it to the lawyers to file I485.

I don't understand where is the conflict here. The website above - ALIPAC - is "Americans for Legal Immigration". From what I read in their website, they want to stop illegal immigration and they support legal immigration. Unless they have a hidden agenda, they should be supporting IV's letter campaign.

What is lawyer saying? Although I have been just current for 12 days the wait seems forever so I understand how you must be feeling.
What did your senator/congressman say?
Where is your application TSC or NSC? If it is TSC, did you try to send email to streamline email address? I know you must have done everything. Also you can try to goto the local office and have them issue you a FP notice if they have expired. Maybe that will set things in motion since I know some IOs just want to issue another FP and not refresh the old one in their systems.

Guys do not feed the freeloaders by telling anything you are reading in the donor forum. Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. They are taking time off and spending own money for you and me. Nothing is free in this world. IV is also doing this for you and me and we are taking it for granted. I am in a unique situation. I had concurrently filed I-140 and 485(EAD and AP as well) on July 2nd. I received my 485 recripts and EAD Cards but no trace of my concurrently filed 140. 140 check also is not cached. All my applications (140 and 485 were sent in the same packet). Called USCIS and received the routine answer that 140 is not in the system yet and have to wait. Any one else in the same situation
