Its just that i think if IO see's that there is an H1 transfer application pending, he may delay the AOS with the current sponsor. I am just mentally preparing myself, havent seen any change in online status.
Looking back, it might have been better to just go with EAD, that way USCIS wouldnt even know I am changing jobs then :D

Ask yourself a simple question:
Is the ITIN Number the same as the SSN?
Sometimes we read too much into these forms, and I too am guilty of doing the same.
Take the case of filing the affidavit of support - I-134, I-864. So much debate, but no clear answer.

Imagine how insulted the soldiers will feel when they read the cards/notes with the flowers...they won't be pleased they were caught in the middle of a controversy. They have enough to deal with already. This will make the government look even worse.

This is my case:
I am not working with my GC (I140) sponsoring company. I applied 485 based on that 140 from my previous company.
Got 3yr H1extn (from Vermont, EAC, in Dec 2007)for current company based on that approved 140.
Got EAD , AP approved.
My previous H1 visa expired in 2004. ( 4yrs gap)
Is it better to go to consulate (Chennai) for stamping ? or use AP?
If I use AP, at POE ( Newark EWR)if I were asked why I am not with GC sponsoring employer what should I say ?
Is there any issue for going stmaping after a long gap ?

In such trying times its awesome to find individuals in the media willing to lend a receptive ear to the hardships faced by all of us and write a wonderful news article on it. Its even more significant especially because when people who should be listening to our concerns and who have the ability to address these issues have turned deaf ears.
She and other media personnel who have helped highlight this issue deserve at least a thank you note.

I just called CS of Vonage and asked them about 5k minute limit. They just laughed as I was not the first one to ask. They said for residential Vonage world plan there is no limit. those 5k applies to business . So rest assured and call India without any fear or limit. Unlimited !
So I am happy.

This feeds to rumors and incorrect information circulated on forums. While such information helps generate lot of threads, page views and ad revenue for other websites, As an organization we should be cautioning people about this.
On the donor forum we have posted some tips what you can do get your greencard. There is no need to make calls everyday trying to get status. If your application is outside processing time, you can simply open a service request. There are other options like Ombudsman and local Congressman's office. We have also posted to our members that if if you have tried all options everywhere and you are in a desperate situation, Immigration voice will help its continued donor members.
In my opinion posts such as "storage area, exam area, and where your file is, pre-approved" only drive curiosity and mass calls that will not help processing of your case. We as an educated and mature community should not fall for such information on the forums.

In a Gandhi-inspired protest, foreigners working legally in the United States sent thousands of flowers to a top immigration official yesterday to draw attention to their complaints about job-based visas.
The official, Emilio Gonzalez, director of Citizenship and Immigration Services, arranged for trucks to haul the bouquets of roses, carnations and other flowers to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington and the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda, Md.
“The reaction from the patients, family and staff was overwhelming,” said Michael Briggs, an American Red Cross employee at Walter Reed who helped distribute the flowers. “They were very appreciative, and they were excited.”
The flower protest was staged by temporary workers, many from India, who felt jilted by the immigration agency’s decision last week to withdraw tens of thousands of job-based visas. The State Department announced last month that green cards would be available starting July 2 for applicants across the range of high-skilled categories, but the immigration agency later said there had been a misunderstanding and no visas would be available.
With a more typically American form of protest under way in the courts — the first lawsuits over the about-face were filed last week — an agency spokesman, Dan Kane, would not discuss the complaints behind the flowers.
Vikas Chowdhry, a software developer who helped coordinate the protest, said the flowers had served a good purpose.
“We are overjoyed that these flowers brightened the day of our injured service brethren,” Mr. Chowdhry said. “It is their sacrifice for American freedom that has made this country great and such a desirable destination.”

No one knows how much it will work, but no one knows whether they will change their mind either. Just calm down. Secondly, even if it is released, we have no idea which categories and how much there will be a retrogression. Some categories may turn out to be not too bad. We will just have to wait and see. Thirdly, the AILF is seeking a legal remedy should this rumor indeed materialize. This lawsuit threat may or may not affect the State Department one way or another. We are all educated people and should have received a proper training to maintain a decent composure and not to lose morality and reveal weakness of the personality. Losing one or two days will not induce the sky failling down. Availability of July 485 filing is at this juncture depends on two factors: One is whether the July Bulletin will indeed be revised and the numbers will be retrogressed. The other is whether the USCIS and the visa posts around the world will be able to adjudicate all the backlog I-485 or immigrant visa applications in a very short period of time. Until the Visa Bulletin revision news popped up, the only factor that would control the issue of how soon one should send in their I-485 applications was the speed of USCIS backlog 485 application adjudications during the next two weeks or beyond. I understand your point. But this is exactly what anti-immigrants complain about H1Bs. ( depressing wages, outsourcing etc)
It is interesting that we are using anti-immigrant's arguments to pin L1s.
Thats NOT the key here ... its about violating current laws and regulations, do what ever you want offshore/outsource/onshore ...what ever, violating the rules and act of fraud is NOT ACCEPTABLE in any circumstances and we are pretty sure that ICE/USCIS and other agencies would have the same view.

please ignore the dots...the important thing is to make the lawmakers aware of the issue. As mirage mentions we should send a letter to the rep Logfren, (i have mailed the letters), we just want them to be aware that there is an issue, ROWs please send them too, you will also be impacted. Nothing against EB2's or the comments they have passed so far, we dont want to undermine your visas, the idea here is simply to make the lawmakers and DOS/USCIS aware of the problem.
In a way DOS/USCIS have opened a pandoras box because EB3 as a whole will see slower approvals leading to a larger number of countries stuck in the process across a spectrum of countries. earlier it was mainly india, china and mexico. If visa allotment policy holds then you will see more countries getting retrogessed.
