Campaigns are good. But to solve this problem we have to go back to the basics of human nature, specifically how or what motivates politicians -
1. Votes
2. Money, Fame, Power
3. Good publicity or fear of bad publicity
We can not give #1 or #2 to the politicians. So our only option is #3. This was the reason why the flower campaign had worked, they feared bad pubilicity.
Again, they will not move even a single inch unless there is some motivation and as I said above our only option is #3.

I am in a similar situation
I have EAD from an EB3 application and I applied for labor in EB2 with same company but different position while working in the new position on EB3 EAD
My eligible date for ac21 is Jan 2008
so are you saying I should only interfile 485 in Eb2 in jan 2011?
You reply would really appreciated since I am really confused
My lawyer advised me as I mentioned before. If your case is simliar to me and if you might have hired the same lawyer he would have advised you the same as what he advised me :). The key is the "wait period" and letter from employer " To show readiness to promote based on skill progression for 2-3 years". Technically "real promotion" should occur on the day of interfiling or immediately after that not before the interfiling.

gO learn the concept of supply and demand before asking a question as to why banks are lowering their appraisals!
Yes, I do agree that we should have some sense of personal responsibility and that is why the middle way is to rent out the house (probably at a bit lower price than your monthly mortgage) and pay the difference from your pocket - if you have to absolutely move out from the house. But, can somebody answer my question above..........why is the same house (not even a brick changed) being appraised at around 100k lower than it was done 2 years back, by the same bank??

I guess we'll need to ADD to that number:
1. BEC stuck folks who could not file in July 07
2. PERM approvals starting August 07
to the 47,728. Plus multiply by 2.1( for dependents ). That'll give the total VISA numbers required for this category to make it Current.
If I have to guess-- (1) would be very less, may be 100-200 max
(2) around 5000 ( just a PUMA)
So, there are about 53000 EB2 I applications. and 2.1 * 53000 = 111300.
If we can create 111300, EB2 I visas then it'll be CURRENT. easy:)

This needs to be advertised on the forums here or on the home page. Most people don't know what IV's expenses are.
A generic breakdown of costs, without going into specifics, would help members understand the expenses and provide some transparency.
It may even motivate new members to contribute more :)
I completely agree !!!

Thanks for your red dots... May I ask, what do mean by becoming eligible?
If they can file in Eb2 , shouldn't they stand in the end of line.
Reason most people filed in EB3 was that it was thought that their application will be subjected to less scrutny and had higher chances of success. Also, so far EB3 has been moving in tandem with Eb2, so it did not matter.
Dude. I am US educated & EB2....1st I didnt understand what u were calling people for.
Man this is the story of the Indian crab in real life. If someone becomes eligible to interfile as EB2...why should you be against it?
I am totally against ur proposal...and am giving u red dots ok.

ASHA and AID are communist leaning and progressive organizations???? I take no offence with the latter but for the former adjective I guess you don't know the meaning of communism.....
But again if I recollect you are the enlightened enitity "Avatar" as I had once said.....so it is best not to get into an argument with you ....there are much more pressing needs in the forum "getting GC for one" than talking about things communist and progressive.

Did anyone see any Soft LUDs on their 485 or old EADs before their approvals/RFEs?
My PD is June 7 2006, not current. Yesterday, I had a soft LUD on my 485 and my first EAD. These two haven't seen any activity since early 2009, and I'm wondering if this means anything or if I'm reading into this a little too much.
thanks,
What is your NOTICE Date? Is it somwhere in SEPT 2007?

From http://blog.nam.org/archives/dobbs_watch/
(I saw this 60 minutes show as well)
But the best part of the interview for non-fans like us who regularly point out Lou's non-obsession with the facts, was an exchange with Stahl where she notes that in the course of a story on illegal immigrant carrying diseases into the US, Dobbs minion Christine Romans says there were 7,000 cases of leprosy in the US in the past 3 years. Says Stahl, "60 Minutes checked that and found a report issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, saying that 7,000 is the number of leprosy cases over the last 30 years, not the past three. The report also says that nobody knows how many of those cases involve illegal immigrants." (Emphasis ours). This exchange then ensues:
"We went to try and check that number, 7,000. We can't...," Stahl says.
"Well, I can tell you this. If we reported it, it's a fact," Dobbs replies.
"You can't tell me that. You did report it," Stahl says.
"I just did," Dobbs says.
"How can you guarantee that to me?" Stahl asks.
Says Dobbs, "Because I'm the managing editor. And that's the way we do business. We don't make up numbers, Lesley."
Wow. Let's let the arrogance linger in the air just a bit, shall we...?
But that's not all. In the end of the interview, there's this back and forth on whether Lou is a journalist, which of course everyone knows he's not. Imagine an interview with a guy claiming he's Elvis. Same-same:
STAHL: I'm sitting here saying to myself, `This man runs a news show?'
Mr. DOBBS: Hmm. I do.
STAHL: And you can just tell me you don't like the president. Whoo.
Mr. DOBBS: I, matter of fact, insist that the audience know where I come from.
STAHL: What about fair and balanced?
Mr. DOBBS: I've never, Lesley, found the truth to be fair and balanced. I found it to be...
STAHL: But that's--but wait, what's the definition of "journalism?" That that's in there.
Mr. DOBBS: I...
STAHL: That has to be part of what a journalist is, is fair and balanced.
Mr. DOBBS: I truly believe there's a nonpartisian, independent reality. But more of the same...
STAHL: But it's your reality.
Mr. DOBBS: It is my reality.
STAHL: But it's not the reality.
Mr. DOBBS: Well, how so

Now about the staff at Heathrow. Surely anyone with eyes that work can see most of them are not British at all but immigrants of some variety or another. A true Brit is a very friendly individual. The invasion of their island during the past fifty years has changed the face of the entire community, not all for the better that is for certain.
Now how do you know that, do you check their passports or do you ask them point blank about their origin. Or do you try to place them by their accent. Obviously not. The only way you can make such a blanket statement and attach an "immigrant of some variety" lable is by the looks alone. My friend, the last ten pages are precisly about such issues. Also, it is quite possible for a third generation Indian/Pakisani, a true Brit nevertheless, to work at Heathrow ... and If I borrowed your eyes for a minute, I see only an immigrant invading the country.

An article in news talking about immigrtion reform bill:
http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2006/01/16/focus5.html?from_rss=1
The gist of it below:
Employers concerned about access to foreign-born talent at the higher-skill end of the scale may also find that the New Year brings good news, of a sort. If the border security and guest worker issues are dealt with early in the year, some in Congress are evidently preparing to try and "fix" the employment-based immigration system, originally designed in 1952, which has become close to unworkable.
However, a Congress fractured on immigration policy most likely lacks the political will to fully reengineer the system. Instead of a major renovation to make the U.S. competitive in the global market for highly skilled talent, there probably will be only the usual technical fixes around the edges.

Dr. Martin recommends that:
1.Policies must be flexible enough to respond to changing market conditions;
2.Visa categories, which have become so complicated they often require professional assistance to navigate, should be simplified;
3.The government apparatus for managing applications should be better funded and more efficient;
4.Requirements for workers and employers should be reasonable and consistent with the way the labor market functions (so for jobs that are not temporary, workers should be given an option to transition to permanent status);
5.Workers should have mobility among jobs and employers; and
6.Employment of unauthorized migrants must be curtailed.

I think it is the part of their process. I went an infopass the other morning and the IO gave me the same response. She said every thing was fine with my application. It was pre-adjudicated and now waiting for a review now that my priority date is current. She asked me to wait for 60-90 days. But I got the approval same afternoon :)
Today I and my wife had an infopass appointment and were told that our I485 case is in Adjudication review and should expect an interview soon. I asked the officer is there anything wrong and he replied back that everything is fine. I am not sure what adjudication review is and why there is an interview if everything is fine
We also opened SR on 9/1/2010 and I got the response today for the SR request and it has the following details
"Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter." Does this mean that we will not get the GC atleast in the next 60 days?
Did anyone had an interview before or anyone know what should we expect in the interview.
Thanks in advance.
